CFMU Show Host Scarlett Sapieha Awarded Bursary Fund

CFMU would like to congratulate Scarlett Sapieha, this year's recipient of the CFMU Bursary!

Scarlett has been interested in radio since her childhood, where her parents - who met volunteering at CFCR 90.5FM in Saskatoon - would regale her with stories of the the station and its characters. Right from her first year at McMaster in 2023, Scarlett started hosting Cinemascope, a show where she gives a deep dive on movies, those who make them, and the music in them.

In 2024, Scarlett received press accreditation from the Toronto International Film Festival, where she had the opportunity to interview actors, directors, and more on the red carpet, attend exclusive film screenings, and learn from veteran journalists. Scarlett took these experiences to CFMU, both through her show and by writing for the station about her experience.

Thanks to the others who applied for the bursary, you made us think carefully about our final decision. Congratulations again to Scarlett and many thanks to Robert, Alumni staff, and all the former volunteers who donated. CFMU looks forward to assisting CFMU volunteers for years to come.
