Are you an avid show-goer? Are you constantly looking for concerts in the Hamilton area? Do you like supporting local artists and venues? Do you find yourself too lazy to do the research? We’ve been there. That’s why we started ‘Steel Jams’.
After receiving awesome feedback from our test run back in February, Steel Jams is here to stay. With help from our music department, we’ll be keeping you up to date on some great shows happening right here in The Hammer. This month, music volunteer Natalie Clark has picked a handful of shows she’d love for you to check out. Here are your hand-picked listings for the month of November.

Sam Weber has been on the road since 2013 and is still going strong. Join him at Mills Hardware to avoid the Sunday scaries and enjoy some chill, meditative music. Accompanied by folk singer Dan Edmonds and Evangeline Gentle, who just so happened to chart at #5 on our last Top 5 for October!

Bulow, named after the artist herself, Megan Bulow, was born in Berlin, Germany and has had tremendous success in North America. The 19-year-old has collabed with artists such as Fall Out Boy and the Chainsmokers.

Madison Violet is comprised of Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, who are both Canadian singer/songwriters. The female duo has dozens of albums and countless awards won for their talent. Check them out at the beautiful Mills Hardware on November 28th!

Personal Fave: All Over Again- I believe I’ve actually heard this song before and very much enjoyed it. Its soothing melody and catchy lyrics are extremely interesting in a song!

Said the Whale @ The Casbah, Hamilton, ON

Said the Whale is a trio that originated in Vancouver, BC. Their music style is a mix of indie/alternative rock, with the slightest bit of folk. The JUNO Award-winning band will be performing an intimate show at The Casbah on November 30th! Definitely a show to see in my opinion.

Personal Fave: Wake Up- Being a fan of Said the Whale, this was a hard one for me to pick! If you’re looking for a song to jam to, Wake Up is what I recommend.
