Making Change: McQuesten Youth Opportunity Creators

Blog/NewsJuly 20th 2018

The McQuesten Youth Opportunity Creators is a community focused program which looks to create opportunities for underprivileged youth. Run by volunteers with some full time staff MYOC runs their own recreation times on Friday nights with their “chill zone” that goes from 5-7pm. The activities range from video games, movie nights to board games.

MYOC wants to provide a welcoming space to benefit youth from the ages of 14-24 years old. They have made strides within the community helping and guiding youth community members to better positions in life by providing opportunities which would otherwise not be available to them.

Outside of MYOC’s main programming on Friday evenings they also hold a variety of events which provide opportunities to explore outside of the McQuesten community and into other places around Hamilton and the Greater Hamilton Area.
