Up to 80% of women will use hormonal contraceptives (i.e., birth control) at some point in their life. However the short- and long-term impacts of hormonal contraceptives on women's cardiovascular health remains largely underexamined. Jennifer Williams, a 3rd year PhD Candidate in the Department of Kinesiology, is aiming to fill this gap with both her basic and clinical science research. Tune in to learn more about how Jennifer adapted her research during the COVID-19 pandemic, why the link between contraceptive and cardiovascular health is not as clear-cut as one might think, and some of Jennifer's favourite pasttimes!
