We're hiring a summer student position here at CFMU and you could be working at the coolest summer job ever! 

Assistant Media Producer

Hourly Rate: $14.15 / 35 hours/wk

Start Date:  June 4, 2018

End Date: August 20, 2018 

As CFMU Assistant Media Producer, the student will be responsible for mostly non-radio related content produced for the station for our website and various other digital platforms.  This individual would  provide all of the visual elements for CFMU including assisting with shooting, editing and outputting  video interviews and live performances, maintain a stock media library for our blog and social media, monitor engagement on social media, and train volunteers on use of all production equipment.   The Assistant Media Producer would also work in the Music Office, managing submissions, charting and tracking of incoming music.

Work Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Media Producer in shooting and editing community video content for website.
  • Doing research to obtain stock audio/video/photo content from various online sources.
  • Adding music to database, and following up with music industry personnel.
  • Develop  a strategic social media strategies that helps shape our brand identity
  • Awareness of SEO strategies so that online posts have chance to rank high on search engines.
  • Measure performance of digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (A/B testing)
  • Research Community partners to establish coverage priorities.

Supervision

The Administrative Director and New Media Producer will train the student with regards to station policies and broadcast industry standards.  The Administrative Director will also guide the student through the various tasks and responsibilities required for the position including the usage of the station’s media equipment and website functions, database and the introduction to our various community partners.  The CSJ student will also have the opportunity to work with our contracted media professionals that will help teach the student new skills with respect to music office activities (i.e video editing).  Tasks relating to the media development will be supervised by the New Media {Producer and will include editing video, cataloguing and sourcing stock content material and integrating social media strategies.
